My rating: 5 of 5 stars
“A Second Wind” by Arni Jacobson & Robert Mims was very refreshing. Your second wind, as described in the book, is about rethinking and rebuilding, whether it’s about a goal you’re trying to reach, job you’re trying to get or a nasty divorce your desperately trying to get over. It’s about reviving yourself for your journey ahead, whatever that happens to be. Moreover, throughout the book, Jacobson & Mims highlight stories of biblical characters and popular, contemporary figures struggling with the same plight in order to further assist the reader in enveloping the concept of the second wind and how they might achieve it.
Personally, I thought this book was great. I believe it dealt with some issues that can, at times, render individuals stagnant and keep the ones going through it down…down so low they feel like they can’t get back up. However, by paralleling biblical figures with popular, contemporary figures in which the reader can relate, it aids in reassuring the reader that their particular situation can be overcome. They can obtain their second wind.
I give it 5 stars.
